About the Course
Indian Institute of Export Management offers a diploma programme in Central Excise and Customs which will develop skills in foreign trade management. This is a four month correspondence course dealing exhaustively with all aspects relating to Central Excise and Customs. At the end of the programme (i.e. after 4 months) written examinations are conducted and evaluated. Those successfully completing the programme will be awarded a Diploma.
Fees Details
Students residing in India
Fees for the course can be paid in any one of the following two methods:
A. LUMPSUM : Along with the filled application form : Rs. 3,900
B. INSTALMENT SCHEME
First installment: Rs.1,950.00
Second installment: Rs.1,200.00
Third installment: Rs.1,200.00
TOTAL Rs. 4,350


Fee should be sent only as DD in favour of Indian Institute of Export Management, payable at Bangalore attaching a seperate slip of paper indicating the name and address of the student.
Examinations
There will be two papers for the examination covering different subjects. They are
1.  Central Excise
2.  Customs
Examination question papers will be sent to you immediately on completion of the training programme. These have to be answered in white, unruled paper and returned to the institute for valuation within fourteen days after receipt of the question papers. Any student who fails in an examination can rewrite the paper in which he /she failed on payment of Rs 50 /- as examination fee for each paper.
Students are advised to dispatch the answer sheets to the Institute by registered post/courier to ensure the timely receipt of the papers. Answer paper for all the 2 papers should be send together only.Grading System
Minimum Marks for a pass in each paper : 45 %
Minimum aggregate marks : 50 %
Minimum Marks for Ist class : 65 %
Minimum Marks for destination : 75 %
For evaluation purpose, therefore a 3-point system would be used. The grade and its corresponding percentage are shown below.
A Grade (Distinction) : 75 – 100
B Grade (Ist Class) : 65 – 74
C Grade (IInd Class) : 50 – 64
Limitation Statute
All enrolments are deemed cancelled and complete on issue of Diploma Certificate or within two years, from date of enrolment, which ever is earlier. Students having pending term beyond limitation statue will have to seek re-admission if they desire to complete the course.
Certification
The diploma certificate along with the marks sheet will be sent to you on obtaining pass marks in all subjects.

In each theory paper of 100 Marks 20 marks shall be awarded for internal examination and 80 marks shall be awarded for annual examination.

In order to pass an examination, an examine must obtain not less than 50% of the marks in each paper.

Second Class : 50% and above ; Less than 60% 
First Class : 60% and above and Less than 75%
